The Resurrection of Jesus

‘The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.’ Matthew 28 v5-6

Reflecting on the painting and
Your Journey through life

  1. Resurrection can refer to a spiritual life with God beyond our physical death, as well as to new life in this world, beyond failure, hopelessness and despair.
  2. Take a moment to imagine Jesus, yourself, a loved one, or someone else as the faceless figure in the painting – one who has experienced a ‘resurrection’. Who is in the painting for you? What does it make you think or feel?

A Prayer of Resurrection
for Your Journey

‘Lord Jesus Christ, help me to spread your fragrance everywhere I go.
Flood my soul with your living Spirit and new life. Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly, that my life may be a radiance of yours.
Shine through me, and be so in me that every person I come in contact with may feel your love in my soul. Amen.’
